By Oliver Jarrett
From the 7th - 10th February, Hitachi showcased their projector range at ISE 2017, the world's largest AV systems integration show. With almost 1,200 exhibitors filling the space and more attendees than ever before it was a hugely successful event. The exhibition began and ended with keynote addresses from Cirque du Soleil president and CEO Daniel Lamarre, and award-winning architect Ole Scheeren.
The tradeshow occupied all 14 halls of the Amsterdam RAI and spanned four days. The event describes itself as a "major launch-pad for manufacturers and service providers to propel new products and solutions into the AV and systems integration marketplace".
Thousands of technology firms took the opportunity to showcase their expanding range, which is something Hitachi also took advantage of. Exhibiting its SSL technology and providing attendees with a first glimpse of the new addition to the Laser series, LP-WU6600, a state-of-the-art projector offering 6000 lumens of clear, high brightness and lamp-free projection.
At Hitachi's stand, visitors enjoyed a range of interactive installations that showcased the capabilities of its projector range and demonstrated how various projectors could be used creatively in a range of settings. This included an interactive pool table with the new CP-WX5506M projector in a vertical set-up projecting onto it - this meant that when a ball hit the side or was potted, the pool table background would light up with an electric shock style image.
The event not only allowed visitors to discover how Hitachi's products can be used creatively to elevate various businesses, but also gave potential customers a chance to view the range and get a better understanding of the right product for their needs. Hitachi staff were on hand throughout the four days to answer any questions and offer advice on the best projector for specific setups and scenarios.
The show allowed for very best in the international AV industry to show their product range and the event provided excellent networking opportunities for everyone in the area. Many businesses secured large tenders, meaning the event provided a high return on investment for several companies.
Hitachi DMG's General Manager Roland Fritsch stated "ISE 2017 allowed us to showcase our continual advances in SSL projection, through innovations such as our new LP-WU6650 laser projector which was unveiled at this year's show. While our 4K Interactive Flat Panels turned heads and enabled visitors to have a hands-on experience with our latest technology. All products being a small part of our continual drive to provide the market with high quality technology with a low total cost of ownership."
As highlighted, these events allow Hitachi and other companies to showcase the latest innovations and demonstrate their understanding of the current AV market. This year Hitachi found there was a strong focus on high-end projector ranges, which is an area of the market they are looking to grow the range into in the future. This makes exhibiting at ISE a good opportunity for businesses to view what competitors offer and increase their understanding of the direction of the global market for AV technology.
